Pilates has been around for years, developed by Jospeh Pilates during the Second World War to help rehabilitate injured soldiers and late, in New York, to improve the performance of ballet dancers. In recent years it has increased in popularity as more and more people discover the amazing, life-changing, benefits this exercise system has to offer.

Pilates exercises work at the deepest level of your anatomy, strengthening the muscles closest to your spine and those, such as abdominals and gluteals, that are integral to good posture and function.

There is a huge emphasis on balancing the body, there's no point being incredibly strong if muscle flexibility and joint mobility let you down, so each Pilates class works to create long, lean muscle, improving posture, flexibility and mobility.

About me

My name is Sandie and I've been practising Pilates for 15 years and still absolutely love it. I have a passion for all things anatomical and try and gain qualifications in as many disciplines as I can to try and help people gain a body that will serve them well for a lifetime.

I have a Level 3 Pilates mat-based qualification, Level 4 Body Control Pilates qualification, I am a qualified Advanced Stretch Practitioner and massage therapist, including Swedish, sports, deep tissue and myofascial release.

Needless to say, I love anatomy and being able to help people relieve pain and get stronger makes my job rewarding every single day. I continue to study for new qualifications and will soon be adding the Pink Ribbon qualification to my CV, helping women who have undergone treatment for breast cancer to recuperate.
